Real Life English Class

It is our attempt and belief that our classes here at Shannon`s English School should be as real and genuine as possible.  We try all different types of activities to attempt to achieve this objective, afterall English is not just learnt out of a textbook, its interacting and communicating with different people from around the world that truly improves one`s speaking abilities.

Here I am playing the "Who wants to be a Millionaire?"game with one of my adult students.  We had questions translated from Japanese into English and used all 3 lifelines:

A) Ask the audience
B) 50/50
C) Phone a friend: and in this case it was another native speaker in which only English was used.

I suggest to everyone that if you haven`t played this game before you should, it`s a lot of fun and a great way to improve your communication skills.

Junior High School Class

中学生クラスです

英語を使ってダニー先生にたくさん質問していました

どれだけ学校で文法を習っても話せない…

なかなか外国人と会話できない

当然ながら話す練習をしないと解決しません

会話は人があってできること

いくら文法を勉強しても英語を使わないとなかなか話せません

頑張ってアウトプットする努力が必要だと思います

中学生の皆さんは恥ずかしいお年頃だけど、

Now, more than ever it is extremely important for Junior High School students to have experience communicating with native speakers of English.  The students get plenty of Grammar at School but limited talking opportunities.  In our Junior High School classes the main focus is on speaking and listening in order to create a very communicative atmosphere!
